Based on your test scores, you should choose a vocabulary set from Quizlet to study.
NGSL
If you scored less than 17 on any level of the NGSLT (New General Service List Test), you should study that set. You may not need to study the entire set, but the words from that set that you are not sure about. ALWAYS start with the lowest set that you did not score 17 on.
Here are the frequency scores for each level:
Level 1: 1-564
Level 2: 565-1128
Level 3: 1129-1692
Level 4: 1693-2256
Level 5: 2257-2818
Here is a folder of sets on Quizlet that match these levels:
NGSL (5 levels to match NGSLT)
The good point about these sets is that they each contain all the words in the level. The weak point is that they are BIG. Another strategy is to study a set in the level you are studying in groups of 50 or of 100.
You can find a folder of the sets of 50 words here:
NGSL 50 word blocks
You will need to scroll and find the set that you want to study.

NAWL
When you have mastered (17 or more) all of the levels of the NGSLT, it is time to study the most frequent academic words outside of the NGSL.
