Lesson 2 – Extensive Writing (EWr)

EWr
We tried Extensive Writing (EWr) for the first time. How many words could you write?

EWr Log
We will use Google Sheets (spreadsheet) to keep track of our progress in extensive writing (EWr). This makes it easy me to follow your progress. It also makes it easy for you to see your own progress. You can generate a line graph from the spreadsheet.

Follow the steps:

  1. Sign in / log in to Google Drive.
  2. Click on NEW.
  3. Choose GOOGLE SHEETS
  4. In the top left box, give your spreadsheet the title: full name + AE + EWr Log (e.g., Taro Suzuki AE EWr Log)
  5. In the top right corner, click on SHARE.
  6. Share it with me. Use my Rikkyo address (danielbeck@rikkyo.ac.jp).
  7. In the A column, write the date of your first EWr.
  8. In the B column, write the number of words.
  9. In the C column, write the percentage (%) your partner understood.
  10. Repeat for each time.

Enter in your EWr score every week.

Quizlet
Vocabulary is one of the most important parts of learning a language. While you can learn many words from reading and conversation, you can learn a lot from deliberate study. Quizlet is a vocabulary flashcard app that you can use on your smart phone, tablet or computer.

Our group pages is here:

Please try the different activities on our Quizlet group. Try it on your phone or tablet also using the free Quizlet app.
