Video – Bring Him Home (cover by the Piano Guys)

Les Miserable is one of the great novels written. It has a message of hope without hiding the pain of reality. I highly recommend you read it. It has been made into a musical and reproduced many times. More recently, it was made into a movie (there are older movies as well). The movie does a wonderful job of reproducing the musical. I also recommend that to you. The following is an arrangement by the Piano Guys. Enjoy!

Video – Dodgers NLCS Game 7 Highlights

As you know, the Los Angeles Dodgers are my favorite baseball team. They just won game 7 in a best of 7 series (the NLCS – National League Championship Series) to be able to advance to the World Series which begins tomorrow in Boston against the Boston Red Sox.

Project 1
We assigned partners and chose topics for our first projects. There are two types of projects to choose from:
  • Conduct an investigation
  • Take a position
You will write a collaborative paper and give a joint presentation. Paper due date: 11/12 23:59.
Presentations will be given on 11/20.

Write about your decisions and progress in your journal before you leave class today. We will talk more about the process on Thursday.

Use the Revision Checklist on p. 97 to help your classmates revise their essays. You will give feedback on 3 classmates' essays. You should also check the Purdue OWL site (see Lesson 02) and the sample paper to give feedback.

Follow these steps:
  1. Read your partner's essay.
  2. Use the comment function by highlighting the text you want to comment on.
  3. Click on the + button on the right of the doc.
  4. Write your comments and click save.
